From Surviving to Thriving
SLP therapy can be a powerful complement to mental health counseling—whether you're working with one of our therapists at the Counseling Center or with your own trusted provider.
While we don’t treat anxiety as a mental health condition, we often collaborate with counselors, psychologists, and other professionals to support communication-related goals as part of a broader care plan. Our focus is on helping individuals communicate more effectively and comfortably, while encouraging families to seek dedicated mental health support when anxiety requires direct treatment.

Initial evaluation add-on: Optional add-on: If you wish to discuss the findings and recommendations, I offer a 20 minute phone call for $40, which will be credited to your Evergreen account. Frequently Asked Questions
-
While they are closely related, they are not the same.
Speech Therapy focuses on speech issues like articulation, voice, and fluency (e.g., stuttering).
Speech-Language Therapy is broader, covering both speech issues and language difficulties, such as understanding and using language, forming sentences, and social communication.
So, speech therapy is a part of speech-language therapy, which is more comprehensive and addresses a wider range of communication challenges.

Not necessarily. If your child has had recent testing, we may be able to use those results instead of repeating the evaluation. In that case, your speech-language pathologist will review the existing reports and develop an initial plan of care based on that information. A case history review fee of $50–$90 applies, depending on the level of detail in the previous evaluation.
